When you walk in to The Nielsen Clinic, you’re welcomed by name with a smile. We’re always glad to see you.
As a new patient, one of the first things the doctor does is a history and examination. This gives you an opportunity to share what you already know with the doctor, ask questions, and allows the doctor an opportunity to connect physical findings during examination with what you report as symptoms and history. Based upon the information that is gained from the history and the exam, appropriate diagnostic testing may be requested to complete the most accurate health picture from which an optimal treatment protocol may be designed.
Chiropractic treatment is the primary treatment modality of the licensed chiropractic physician. Depending on your concern, a comprehensive neurologic exam may be given, physical examination for a specific site or region, or a simple examination of vitals to determine the most important follow up testing that will assist in diagnosis and treatment.
We do not have diagnostic imaging in the office; however, we do request appropriate imaging when indicated. The doctor will review and read those images, so if you have them, bring them to your appointment to provide extra insight into your body. Diagnostic testing includes blood labs, MRI, CT Scans or X-rays or Ultra Sounds, Hormone Panels, Parasite Evaluation, and food sensitivity testing. Each of these tests are typically performed out of office, though a biological impedance scan or a ZYTO scan can be performed in office to assist in directing the evaluation of health concerns.
Nutritional recommendations are offered based upon history, physical exam or lab findings. Nutritional recommendations may include dietary modifications, nutritional supplementation, or water intake.
Other treatment recommendations include oxygen, walking, exercise, or specific brain exercises depending upon the injury or the developmental delay that needs to be corrected.
